RHS Logistics awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification
RHS Logistics LLC the Middle East region’s
leading logistics service provider and a member of
the Rais Hassan Saadi Group, was recently awarded
ISO 9001:2000 certification at their flagship headquarters
in Jebel Ali Free Zone by Lloyds Register Quality
Assurance (LRQA), the world leading independent certification
body.
RHS Logistics facilitates the requirements of large
fast moving consumer goods companies to have a consolidated
stockholding point to support deliveries to the markets
of the Middle East, Iran, Southern CIS and India.
It is dedicated to ensuring that the users of the
distribution centre will enjoy a service that exceeds
expectations, provides appropriate and careful product
care, added value services, accurate inventory control
and the provision of comprehensive management information.
Supported by state of the art handling equipment
and computer systems that use the latest radio frequency
and bar code scanning technology, this offers all
of RHS Logistics customers an efficient, cost effective
solution to their supply chain management requirements.

As part of RHS Logistics overall strategy of providing
tailor made quality supply chain solutions, the initial
adoption and effective implementation of the Quality
Management System was overseen by Dennis Ward, the
Groups Quality Manager, in support of Girish Kurup,
Systems Manager and Quality Coordinator at RHS Logistics,
JAFZ.
To re-enforce this initiative, in-house staff training
workshops were conducted by Dennis Ward; covering ‘Quality
Awareness’, ‘A Quality Management System
and its Benefits’ and ‘The Value of Customer
Complaints’.
Following a series of internal audits conducted by
the RHS Groups team of trained internal auditors of
the documented system and processes employed at RHS
Logistics, subsequent preliminary assessment and on-site
Change to Approval visit, Certification of the Quality
Management System was recommended by LRQA.
On receipt of the certificate, Richard Bell, General
Manager of RHS Logistics said, “ We are proud
and delighted to join all those other organizations
that have achieved this internationally recognized
and prestigious ISO 9001 certification for Quality
Management Systems.”
“The further addition of this unit in securing
ISO certification to our existing group certification,
demonstrates our commitment to providing consistently
superior quality services and products to our clients
at all times.” added Mr. Salim Rais.
The company’s Quality Management System will
now be subject to regular reviews by both internal
auditors and LRQA surveillance visits during the following
three years of the certification validity period, in
order to verify that the requirements of the standard
are satisfactorily and consistently met.

Logistics and Distribution and other related freight
transport activities together with Insurance and
